This eight-stage program enables us to manage quality through from planting to harvest, preconditioning to packing, shipping to delivery and beyond. FlavorFirst represents a bold commitment from our entire team of partners, all to ensure that your customers are satisfied bite after bite. Here’s how it works:

Field:

We select the best soil combinations for each variety, then choose the best root stock for each soil type. It’s part science, part artistry, and all vital to creating a difference you can taste!

Harvest:

We select only the finest fruit varieties from over 200 available, judiciously prune them for maximum quality, then carefully hand-pick and inspect them when the sugars and textures are at their peak.

Flavor testing:

Each partner follows our strict quality protocols, confirmed by our own Quality Coordinator. Any fruit that fails to meet our standards is rejected by an independent Taste Promiser.

Receiving & packing:

All incoming fruit is inspected for sugars, pressures, textures, colors, blemishes and taste, before being gently hand-packed.

Conditioning testing:

After being tasted by inspectors, our fruit is custom preconditioned in our industry-leading system to ensure optimal quality and shelf life.

Age-monitored inventory:

We monitor the age of our fruit daily, inspect each shipment, and transport the fruit to your stores within days of harvest. At Ripe ‘N Ready, we don’t sell fruit from our inventory. Instead, we pack and ship fruit based on demand projections coordinated with our retail partners. This prevents our fruit from sitting in inventory, losing precious shelf life with each passing day, and results in a much better flow of fruit from our system into our partners’ systems.

Produce manager education:

We provide brochures, customer talking points, storage information, display ideas, group training, phone support, online tools and other resources to help produce managers move more Ripe ‘N Ready fruit!
